License & Insurance
When hiring a contractor, especially for electrical work, checking for proper license and insurance is very important. A valid license ensures that the contractor has met the necessary training and standards to perform the job safely and effectively. Insurance protects you from liability in case of accidents or damages during the project. By confirming both, you not only safeguard your investment but also ensure the safety and compliance of the work being done in your home or business.

In Kansas, Contractor licensing is a function of the respective county government. In Missouri, licensing is specific to each municipality.
Many jurisdictions in the Kansas City Metro will reciprocate, to some degree, a contractors license from Johnson County, KS or Kansas City, MO, as these are the two largest in the area - with the most extensive requirements.
